When a leading luxury fashion retailer refurbished its 400 sqm, two-floor retail and office space on the corner of Cadogan Place and Sloane Street, every element of the space needed to reflect the brand’s uncompromising standards, including functionality behind the scenes.

The Brief
The refurbishment of this high‑end flagship retail space demanded a complete mechanical plumbing solution that would remain invisible to customers, but perform with absolute reliability.
In luxury retail environments, even minor water ingress can result in reputational damage, operational shutdowns, and financial losses running into millions. The system therefore needed to provide:
Long-term corrosion resistance
Leak-proof jointing technology
Fire-compliant drainage
Precise pressure and flow control
WRAS-approved components throughout
The requirement was for a technically robust, fully compliant plumbing system incorporating stainless press, cast iron drainage, commercial valve assemblies, and tested support systems, delivered without disruption to programme.
The Challenge
Located on a busy corner in one of London’s most prestigious retail districts, logistical complexity added project pressure:

With a fixed launch date, programme certainty was key to project success. Delays to materials – pipework, valves, bracketry, or drainage – could directly impact programme.

With £15m+ stock value held at the central distribution centre and access to Brymec Breeze next-day delivery, materials were supplied exactly when required, reducing storage pressure and eliminating programme risk.
The core pipework solution was Brymec’s Stainless Press system, selected for high corrosion resistance (ideal for commercial potable water systems), press-fit jointing technology reducing hot works risk, consistent joint integrity with controlled pressing profiles, reduced installation time versus traditional welded systems, and long-term performance under variable pressure conditions.
Cast iron drainage was specified for enhanced fire resistance, superior acoustic dampening, high compressive strength and durability, and long design life with minimal maintenance risk.
