Brymec's Bespoke Air Source Heat Pump Solutions for Rooftop Installations: Manor Road, Canning Town, London

Commercial Air Source Heat Pumps in London

Canning Town is one of London's fastest-growing residential areas, close to landmarks such as London Excel and the O2 Arena. To continue the area's development, Manor Road will become the latest addition to the expansion.

The Manor Road project is planned on a residential-led, mixed-use scheme incorporating open space, using green grid links to Star Park. Three buildings are being built to accommodate new residential premises, which include:

·         34-storey building structure housing 215 apartments.

·         A 9-storey building containing 61 apartments.

·         A 12-storey building containing 79 apartments.

The development of these three residential structures and 555m2 of commercial and retail floor space create quite the project that will become Manor Road.

Bespoke Air Source Heat Pump Solutions for Commercial Buildings

As with any structure, significant thought is given to every single part and stage of the construction – ensuring that the plans are safe and can accommodate all requirements. This is no exception for the Manor Road project.

Air Source Heat Pumps and pump skids are positioned on top of the 34-storey building. We needed to ensure correct storage requirements and offered bespoke support systems, which were required to hold the units in place and to be able to withstand high load bearing and vibration absorption. The support system must also be fitted to accommodate the anti-vibration mounts built into the unit.

With installations moving along swiftly, the mechanical sub-contractor [Essex Services Group] required the specialist equipment and support within a short time frame, requiring on-site products within a couple of days.

Brymec's Plumbing Products for Commercial Properties

At the core of our product selection were the Air Source Heat Pump. This product shows our dedication to eco-conscious living and was seamlessly integrated into the Manor Road project. These heat pumps leverage the latent warmth of the air to provide efficient, cost-effective heating solutions. This choice aligns with our environmental ethos and ensures that Manor Road residents enjoy the benefits of sustainable living.

When the request for help came to Sales Support Manager, Arne Glass, he was happy to support [Essex Services Group] with the bespoke requirements of the DuraFrame Support system. A site visit was arranged to configure what was needed for the support system using the innovative DuraFrame App.

Configurations were drawn up from the app on-site, and technical submittals of the bespoke system were submitted to the client for approval. With the technical submittal including all the information needed, approval was granted on the same afternoon.

Knowing there was a tight delivery schedule, a quick check showed that all components were available in stock at Brymec's Gatwick Distribution Centre. The order for the support system was delivered at 08.30 am the following morning, meeting constraints of the allotted timeslot on site and in time for when it was required for installation.

The DuraFrame system is delivered in a boxed kit package, enabling the client to manoeuvre easily using a crane to lift to the roof of the 34-story building.

An installation guide was provided to help fit the support system, which included the 3D interactive render to show the exact visualisation of the frame configuration. The mechanical subcontractor [Essex Services Group], with guidance from Brymec, could drill through the sidebars of the support system whilst maintaining robustness to ensure stability on the rooftop build.
