The intermittent hardening process increases the profile hardness by 15% extending the life of the jaws to an impressive 20,000 cycles. This new surface treatment for both Standard and Compact jaws can reduce wear of the jaw profile by up to 62% and by laser hardening the plate and pivot pins durability is increased by 42%. Overall this process can increase the lifetime of the jaws by 100%, a clear benefit for tradesmen and installers.
